Well, I’ve just finished repainting my house, and I’m delighted to share the reasons behind my colour choices. When it comes to selecting paint colours, I believe it’s essential to create a harmonious and inviting atmosphere that reflects both personal taste and the surrounding environment.
For the exterior, I opted for a soft and soothing shade called “Surf Mist” from the popular Australian paint brand, Dulux. This colour complements the coastal landscape around my home and gives it a fresh, beachy vibe. “Surf Mist” also helps to reflect sunlight, keeping the house cooler during those scorching Australian summers.
As for the trim and accents, I decided to go with a crisp white shade called “Lexicon Quarter,” also from Dulux. This classic white hue adds a touch of elegance and brightens up the overall look, providing a clean contrast against the “Surf Mist” main colour.
Moving indoors, I wanted to create a warm and cozy ambiance, so I chose a rich and earthy tone for the living room, called “Bushland,” again from Dulux. This Australian-inspired colour brings a sense of nature and grounding to the space, making it perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a long day.
For the kitchen, I went with a bold and modern choice – a deep blue-green shade named “Deep Ocean” from another renowned Australian paint brand, Taubmans. This colour infuses the kitchen with a sense of depth and sophistication, while still maintaining a connection to nature through its oceanic undertones.
In the bedrooms, I wanted to foster a peaceful retreat, so I selected “Softly Does It,” a soft and tranquil pale grey from Haymes. This gentle hue promotes a serene atmosphere, promoting better sleep and relaxation.
For the bathrooms, I decided on a crisp and clean shade known as “Antique White U.S.A.” from Dulux. This colour gives the bathrooms a timeless appeal and allows me to add colourful accents through towels and accessories for a pop of personality.
Ultimately, my choice of colours was a blend of aesthetics and functionality, drawing inspiration from the stunning Australian landscapes while ensuring a comfortable and inviting environment for myself and my family.
So, what do you think?
